Biography


He has a wide experience in teaching having taught in various secondary schools for 12 years before joining Alupe university in 2017. He is a Lecturer of Geography. He is currently the Coordinator of Alupe University Examinations and Timetabling Department. This department is responsible for preparation of teaching and examination timetables as well as all exam matters in the university such as printing, storage, administration, pool marking and coordination of external moderation of marked scripts. He is a member of the following professional bodies: (i) International Society for Environmental Information Sciences (ISEIS) (ii) Society of Wetland Scientists (SWS) (iii) Christian and Scientific Association of Kenya (CSAK). He is also a Director & Board Member of Lake Victoria Community Empowerment & Economic Inclusive Growth Development Program (LAVICO-EDP), Board Member & Organizing Secretary of BioCosmos Kenya Trust Foundation (BCK) and Member of Kenya Climate Change Working Group (KCCWG). He is the Patron of Alupe University Scouts Club, BioCosmos student Club and I Care Initiative student mentorship group in the University.

Academic Qualifications


He studied at University of Nairobi where he attained Bachelors of Education degree in 2000 specializing in Geography and Commerce. He attained MSc degree from Egerton University in 2017 specializing in Geography. His MSc thesis title is: Effectiveness of Seasonal Climate Forecast in Agricultural Decision-Making among Smallholder Farmers in Semi-Arid Voi Sub-County, Kenya. He obtained a PhD in Geography from Egerton University in 2021. His PhD thesis title is: Effects of Rainfall Variability And Adaptation on Households’ Livelihood Vulnerability in Kitui South sub-County, Kenya. He has also trained in the following areas: Certificate in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), MOOC Digital Literacy Lab for Educators, KENET Certificate in Cyber Security Awareness, Curriculum Development and Review, Intelligent Design in the Natural Sciences, Character Virtue for Positive Youth Development and Student Mentorship in Entrepreneurship Programme.

Research Interests


His areas of Research interest are: climate change and variability information dissemination for agricultural decision-making; livelihood vulnerability to climate change and variability and adaptation strategies.
